Terms, Conditions & Limitations

These terms apply to all estimates, service agreements, and work performed by Valley Green Shredding, LLC.

General Service Terms

  1. Estimate Validity. All estimates are valid for fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of issuance unless otherwise stated. Estimates are not invoices. By signing an estimate, you agree to the terms and conditions contained herein.
  2. Cart Minimum. A four (4) cart minimum charge may apply depending on the contract type and service agreement. Specific minimums are noted on each estimate.
  3. Payment Terms. Payment terms are specified on each estimate (e.g., Due On Receipt, Net 15, Net 30). A finance charge of 1.5% per month may be applied to overdue balances.
  4. Cancellation & No-Show. A fee of up to $150 may apply if you do not notify us of changes, cancellations, or unavailability within 24 hours of the scheduled service.
  5. Returned Checks. A fee of $55 will be charged for any returned check.

Site & Material Preparation

  1. Floor Location. Unless otherwise agreed upon and noted on the estimate, all boxed material must be located on the ground floor, accessible to our technicians and equipment.
  2. Container Responsibility. Unless agreed upon in writing, Valley Green Shredding is not responsible for breaking down or removing emptied containers (boxes, totes, etc.) after shredding.
  3. Material Labeling & Separation. The Customer must properly label all items designated for shredding, separate non-shredding items, and guide our technicians to the correct materials. Valley Green Shredding is not liable for errors if guidance is unclear or incomplete.
  4. Container Preparation. All containers for shredding must be free of bindings such as tape, rope, rubber bands, or zip ties. Additional fees may apply if containers are not prepared as required.
  5. Cart Filling Process. Company technicians will fill secure carts with paper materials until full and lock the lids before transporting them to the shredding truck for processing.

Property & Liability

  1. Property Damage. Valley Green Shredding is not responsible for any damage to pavement, curbs, driveways, landscaping, or nearby property caused by its trucks or equipment, unless due to Company negligence or willful misconduct.
  2. Final Count. The Company will conduct the final count of all materials processed, which will be recorded on the digital Certificate of Destruction.
  3. Estimate Changes. The estimate may change if project details provided are incorrect, or if changes are made to the scope. Any changes require mutual approval (verbally or in writing) before additional work is performed.

Discounts & Adjustments

  1. Recurring Customer Discount. A recurring customer discount of up to 20% (maximum $1,000 per year) may apply to paper shredding services only. Some restrictions apply. This discount does not apply to hard drive destruction, electronic media, special projects, or labor charges.
  2. Prompt Payment Discount. Where applicable (e.g., state contracts), a prompt payment discount may be available as specified on the estimate.

DCJIS Compliance

For Massachusetts DCJIS-Compliant Agencies

DCJIS-compliant agencies must maintain control and chain of custody of materials designated for on-site shredding to meet the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Criminal Justice Information Services (DCJIS).

Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, Valley Green Shredding will perform all services under the Customer's direct supervision. If the chain of custody is broken at any point, the Company is not responsible for providing DCJIS-required employee information for a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check.
